Morskie Oko

The largest and the most spectacular lake in the whole Tatra Mountains, located in "Fish Brook" Valley, surrounded by the highest peaks of the Polish Tatras. Next to the lake there is a century old Mountain Hut, from which you can admire the most breathtaking view of the valley. Morskie Oko hut offers accommodation, and is a known starting point for Rysy excursion - the tallest summit in Polish Tatras.

You can get to Morskie Oko from the parking located on Palenica Białczańska by foot, the journey takes circa 2 hours in one direction. Horse-drawn fiacre is also available. In the summer season thousands of tourists visit Morskie Oko daily and the path is really crowded. Halfway you can also admire Mickiewicz Waterfalls, and Gerlach summit at one of the viewpoints. In wintertime the tile of the lake is frozen and you can take a walk through the lake by foot.
